“O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!”
As Jim Rohn states “for every disciplined effort there is a multiple reward”. Here at City Springs we believe earned rewards give students a greater sense of achievement for their outstanding work.
Instructors of the Southeastern team rewarded students who earned CHAMPS status on their daily point sheet and who had good attendance the opportunity to visit Fort McHenry National Park located in Baltimore Maryland. Fort McHenry is well-known for successfully defending the Baltimore Harbor from attacks by the British Navy in 1814 and also, for being the “Birthplace of the Star-Spangled Banner”. Students were given the honor of joining in on a daily ritual that is more 200 years old by helping to raise a huge replica of the original flag. The students were also rewarded with a tour where they were able to view exhibits of historical and military memorabilia, electric battle map, restored barracks, restored flag pole, the Commander’s Quarters, the Guard House, the Enlisted Men’s Quarters, and many more.
At the end of the field trip students were given 1 free pass to ANY national park of their choosing! Isn’t that amazing! At City Springs, we are firm believers of positive reinforcement which can help foster good school attendance and an environment where students are motivated to do well and succeed academically.
